CD covers (relating to digi-pack production)

I have found a variety of CD covers which I like the look of. Also ive found them to relate well to the band / artist that they are created for.

Shown below are a variety of CD cover images from different bands / artists which I personally like:

1) Sigur Ros - Agaetis Byrjun

I like this album because it suits the bands music well as their music is quite diffrent and also is very strange. The CD cover also represent how they are styled as a band and what they are like personally. The big headed baby image is very 'in your face' which works very well and would sell to many of their fans in shops such as HMV etc...

What ideas can I take from this CD cover and use in my digi-pack?

I personally like the font style on the front of this CD cover as it is quite simplistic but has a hand written style to it which captures the feeling / mood of their songs, it also lets the fans have a more personal feel for the CD if they own it. Its the kind of font which adds a poetic / almost shakesperian style to the CD itself. I will try and incorporate this style of font into my front cover on my digi-pack for my artist as it is also relating to her style of music / poetical views on life etc..

2) Newton Faulkner - Rebuilt By Humans

I like this album cover as its very simplistic but is still relating to the artist nearly 100%. The album cover relates well to Newtons songs based around his last album and this one, his songs are written in a simplistic note taken way, in which he then furthers his ideas and produces very simplistic yet well known songs. The album cover reflects Newtons simplistic ways in which he writes his songs and music videos. During the production of his songs and also performing them he does indeed enjoy himself and this is noticable very strongly at live concerts and gigs, as he is a light hearted fun-loving character, which is also strongly projected through this album cover.

What ideas can I take from this CD cover and use in my digi-pack?

I like the way in which the CD cover is so simplistic yet very eye catching and visually attractive to the audience / fans. I will most likley try to follow these rules while producing my digi-pack for my artist 'Alison'. These rules being: Don not over complicate the ideas I have and keep it as simplistic as possible and also relate the image / CD cover as much towards the artist and her songs as possible.

3) Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams

I like this album cover as it has the silhouette of a tree and the artist (Jack Johnson) It is very simplistic but expresses the songs he has produced and his personallity well, as he is a simplistic person. His music is also about life in general and the tree symbolises life and he is grabbing onto the tree I believe this reflects his overall persona very well indeed.

What ideas can I take from this CD cover and use in my digi-pack?

I like the simplistic style of this album cover which still expresses alot to the audience. Also the touch of nature (the tree) in this CD cover image works well with both Jack Johnsons music and also will work well on the cover of my digi-pack as Alisons music is relating to nature so therefore the image of the tree will look good. Also the image of Jack Johnson touching the tree will also work well on my digi-pack image on the front cover. but with Alison touching nature perhaps a flower instead of a tree. (as this is the image I have used within my music video and will work well on the front cover of the CD).
