Dizzee Rascal - "Dance Wiv Me" - Lip-sync music video task

imgres.jpg

In this task we were asked to work in smaller groups on a lip-sync task which includes a well known song, in this instance our group were given "Dance Wiv Me" By Dizzee Rascal. Straight away i had my own personal idea for the video, but due to time constraints i was unable to put my idea forward. The time we were given for this task was 30 minutes.

After we had discussed the plan through we gathered our equipment together ready for the shoot. we then went out to find approiote location for the actual music video shoot. once the location was found we set the laptop up and then played the music for us to act (dance / lip-sync) too.

once we started we found it very hard to hear the actual music due to it being played through small laptop speakers, but we tried our very best to lip-sync to the lyrics / song.

As the time soon went passed we realized that this task was very hard indeed, and a result of this was an unfinished rushed project.

Dj Format - "we know something you don't know" Music Video task

For this task we were given a cut up version of the hip-hop music video "We know something you don't know" By DJ Format.
we were asked to put the clips together in an order that worked well along side the music, also there were deliberate black spaces / squares placed on each clip and it was are job to try and clip the black spaces out in order to get the original video and then place them in a sequential order on the time line.
Once the video was in a sequence order the final task was to add the audio track, which had to relate to the video footage, by this i mean we were given a different track and it wasn't the original song by DJ Format, instead it was a random sound track which we were given to place on the video footage.
Once the video was complete to the best of our ability, we were then asked to browse through every ones videos and discuss whos was the best video in ways of editing, syncing the music, and the way each clip was cut.
Overall i believe this task went very well, and or though i did not receive much feedback from the class on my video i believe it went well and i stuck to the rules of the task and produced a video that was reflective of the amount of work i put into it, if had more time on this task the finished vide would of course of been better, for example i would of liked to add more effects to the completed video.

Alecia Elliot - "You wanna What" Music Video task

This task was set in order for us to get used to the way in which a music video is cut up and lip-synced to a music track, in this case it was "You Wanna What" by Alecia Elliot.

What is lip-syncing?

Lip-sync or Lip-synch (short for lip synchronization) is a technical term for matching lip movements with voice or music.
We were given a lip-sync video that had already been made by some past long road students who produced a lip-sync music video for this song around 4-5 years ago.

We were given clips for their music video and were then asked to put the clips in a sequence which had to go in line with the video footage, in other words we had to make sure the music was synced up correctly to the video, and also that it was cut at the correct points to make the music video fluid and flow with the music / rhythm.

We had to edit / produce the lip-sync video on a program called Final Cut Express.

Once we had synced the music correctly with the video we then set on snipping the clips up and making "cuts" where we thought were necessary and made the music video look more fluid and flowing with the rhythm of the track.

When the video was completed we saved the project onto the mac desktop.
